Yes, all of the servers that we use are located in the city of Auckland, New Zealand, so you can be sure you are getting a powerful and reliable local server for your Joomla website.

Will Hosting-NZ Limited transfer my current Joomla website for me?

Yes, this is a fairly straightforward process that we will do for you free of charge. First of all we backup your current website, and then download all of these files, before connecting to your new Hosting-NZ account via FTP. From here, it is a simple matter for us to upload your website files to our servers. This will be done within 24 hours of receipt of your payment.

My Joomla website has been hacked! How do I fix it?

First of all, don’t panic! We can fix most issues that arise quickly and easily through our customer support system. Simply submit a ticket that details the problems you are experiencing. Please be as detailed as you can about the nature of the problem. We will respond to you as promptly as possible and try to fix the issues you are having within 24 hours – in many cases, a lot sooner than this.

Note that a small charge is usually applied for this service.

We certainly can fix it for you. You will need to submit a support ticket that details exactly the kind of help you need from us. In the majority of cases we will use outside assistance from a third party to perform work involving templates and extensions, and this will be charged at an hourly rate. However, if it is our servers that are at fault then the work carried out will be free of charge.

What hosting control panel does Hosting-NZ use?

We use the cPanel as this is widely recognized as the best Hosting Control Panel for Joomla servers. It allows us to replace tedious tasks with a fully automated web interface that is very easy to use. cPanel has been designed with multiple administration levels, including email, end user, reseller and admin interfaces, which provides security, flexibility and ease of use for everyone.

Can I upgrade or downgrade my hosting plan?

Yes, you can do this anytime you like. Simply log into our site, access the client area and then navigate to your current hosting plan (this is clearly labeled). From here, it is possible to select a new plan, or cancel your plan altogether.

Will Hosting-NZ upgrade my Joomla site to the latest version?

Yes, we will upgrade your Joomla site, but you will need to submit a support ticket asking us to do this for you first. A small charge will be applied to carry out the update.

Updating to the latest Joomla version will increase the security of your website, as they regularly update their code to deal with any new security vulnerabilities that arise.

Does Hosting-NZ perform regular backups of my site?

Yes, we backup all the data on our servers once a week, on Sundays. These backed up data files will then be sent to clients via email so that they have a copy of this. However, clients are responsible for storing this data. If you want to restore your website from our weekly archives, you will need to submit a ticket outlining your request, for which a $20 fee will be charged.
